An air conditioner is an appliance, or mechanism made to exit heat from a place by the help of refrigeration cycle. In building, a complete process of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning is called as
HVAC. Their use, in the home, in the car or in office, is to render comfort during either hot or cold climate.
In the refrigeration process, a heat pump changes heat from a lower temperature heat origin into a higher
temperature heat sink. Heat would automatically flow in the other direction. This is the most normal and common
type of air conditioning. A refrigerator works in the same manner, as it pumps the heat out of the inner into the
room in which it is located.
This cycle takes plus points of the universal gas law PV = nRT, where P is pressure, V is volume, R is the
universal gas constant, T is temperature, and n is the number of moles of gas (1 mole = 6.022×1023 molecules). The common refrigeration cycle functions an electric motor to force a compressor. In an auto machine, the
compressor is forced by a belt over a pulley, the belt being forced by the engine's crankshaft. Whether in a car or
the home, both use electric fan motors for air circulation. As evaporation takes place when heat is absorbed,
and condensation takes place when heat is ejected, air conditioners are made to use a compressor to cause
pressure variations between two parts, and actively condense and pump a refrigerant around. A refrigerant is
pumped into the cooler compartment (the evaporator coil), as the low pressure and low temperature induces the
refrigerant to evaporate into vapors, taking heat with it. In the other section(the condenser), the refrigerant vapor
is compressed and forced through other heat exchange coil, condensing into water, refusing the heat earlier
absorbed from the cooled space.
Refrigeration air conditioning system normally diminishes the humidity of the air processed by the machine. The
relatively cold evaporator coil condenses water vapour from the processed air, (as like an chilled drink will
condense liquid on the outside of a glass), transferring the water to a drain and removing water vapour from the
cooled space and lowering the relative humidity. As humans perspire to provide real cooling by the evaporation
of perspiration from the skin, drier air improves the ease provided. The comfort air conditioner is designed to
generate a 40% to 60% relative humidity in the occupied space. In food retailing formations large open chiller
chambers act as highly effective air anti humidifying units.
Some air conditioning units just normally dry the air without cooling it or cooling the place. They work as a normal
air conditioner, except that a heat exchanger is replaced between the intake and exhaust. In combination with
convection fans they attain a similar degree of comfort as an air cooler in humid tropical climates, but only
consume about 1/3 of the electric power. They are preferred by those who find the draft created by air coolers
awkward.
